Never Stop Learning

I have been a teacher all of my life....elementary up to the university level and one thing I always say is 'to never stop learning'....learn, absorb, grow...mentally change and challenge yourself.

Now.....A good point is the last Audubon Walk on April 8th. As you can see, we had a good crew, young and old....look at the young ones! WOW! A few from Stockton who were nice birders with an ear for the notes, but also us older-timers who enjoyed the sun and the wind, ....in the 40's.

But as some of us, (including me) were observing a Downy Woodpecker, others were facing off in this direction staring up at the sky. And they found something and all of us learned a bit. Way up there above the boardwalk a Golden Eagle was spotting. Now, at first glance it would seem like an immature Bald Eagle but as Kevin pulled out the Sibley and immediately began to 'learn' (rather, educate) us on the size of the head. The American Eagle has a relatively small head that is seen in flight in comparison to the Bald Eagle. On top of that, as someone  pulled out the image  they took on the camera, the banding on the tail is surely an immature, (bald or american)....Nice  bit of learning for future ID.

The morning traveled along nicely...I for one just saw one Pine Warbler on my return to the car but I know Anthony heard a few calling. So perhaps a bit early for Warblers but just wait now, just wait....Come back next week and the next and next and see what finds its way.....
